She Earned Four Promotions This Year — How Did She Do It?

ncg-inc-gabbyNCG, Inc in Trumbull, CT is the poster company for the phrase “behind every good company is a great administrator.” Okay, so maybe we made up that phrase… but it is completely fitting when you have someone like Gabrielle Lofaro on the front line of your administration, human resources and recruiting! In just a short 10 month period of time, she has just earned her FOURTH, yes FOURTH, promotion with the company. We caught up with Gabby to learn more about her success and the moves she’s making within her career.

Four promotions in under a year…seriously, how have you done it?

What really keeps me motivated is having clear goals and knowing what opportunities lie ahead! Working at NCG, Inc I know that I’m not stuck in a dead end job, I have a career path! And by reaching my goals on this career path it will allow me to create a life that I’ve always wanted. I also have a team that backs me up 100%. Jolene, Management and all of the guys in the office have always pushed me to be great. It really makes a difference when other people want to see you succeed just as much as YOU want to succeed.

You mentioned that with NCG, Inc you actually have a career path. What do you think is the difference between a job and a career?

To me, a job is something you go to everyday to simply make money. There is no future (or a very limited one), there is nothing exciting about “what comes next”, and you’re ultimately there just to survive. A career on the other hand, is something that makes you excited to get up in the morning… to move up and advance within. It is something that has the opportunity to change your life for the better. There’s growth, and you know that you are not wasting your time being there because every day gets you closer to your goal! One my first interview with NCG, Inc I recall having to fill out a questionnaire about what I was looking for in a position and I actually wrote, “I do not want another day to day job, but rather a career that I can be happy with!” And guess what? I found it.

And there you have it. That, folks, is how you get promoted 4 times in less than one year. Congratulations on all of your success, Gabby; and on behalf of the entire NCG, Inc team we want to thank you for all that you do.

Northeast Consulting Group, Inc. Reviews: Enjoying the Journey!

Most of us have big goals and dreams that we want to accomplish. What separates the people who usually achieve their goals and the people that don’t is the work ethic, drive, and determination that someone has throughout their path to success. But, what is the point of achieving your goal if you’ve burnt yourself out so much on your journey that you can’t enjoy the reward. Most of us want to get to our destination of success so badly that we forget to enjoy the journey we take to get there.

1. Take Care of Yourself!
Anything that goes up must come down. Anything that accelerates your system will eventually wear off. Most of us get through the day on a combination of energy drinks, espresso, coffee, and caffeinated beverages. Instead of drinking caffeine all day, try starting your day with a coffee or drink of your choice and then switching to water with lemon. Lemon has natural qualities that help you stay alert, focused, and awake. Eliminating a high amount of caffeine consumption can help you balance your energy throughout the day so you don’t crash!

2. Focus on Today
Looking at the big picture of what you want is the driving factor to success. You can’t start your journey on the road to success unless you know where you want to end up. With that being said, you can’t only look at what you want in the future, you have to look at where you are right now. What are you goals today? How will you enjoy today? How will you make today be a valuable part of your continued success moving forward?

3. Stop Taking Everything SO SERIOUSLY!
Life tends to have a sense of humor, laugh it off! The world has a way of playing with us, testing us, and challenging us. We’ve all heard the old adage, “Nothing worth having ever comes easy.” If you understand that, when a roadblock comes your way you’ll learn how to swerve and keep going down your path. If you can’t remember the last time you smiled or laughed; if you feel like life is an endless hamster wheel, it might be time to ask if you are taking it all too seriously.

At the end of the day, working hard for what you want is what will get you to your goals. But, if you don’t enjoy the journey then what’s the point of getting to the destination. Just remember, take care of yourself, focus on the now, and lighten up! It will make all the difference in your personal and professional life!

Is Anything REALLY Impossible?

Northeast Consulting Group, Inc. Reviews Roger Bannister

It’s Only Impossible Until Someone Makes It Possible

It’s a common notion that when someone says something is impossible, it is usually because someone has not done it yet. If everyone went along with this ideal, we would not have many of the common luxury items that we have now such as: internet, television, computers, cell phones, phones, and airplanes. As people, it is normal for us to doubt what we have not seen proven to be true. But, why is anything impossible? If we have goals, dreams, or visions, why do we not do everything we can to make those things our reality? Whether or not we like to admit it, the biggest reason is because doing something that has never been done takes an incalculable amount of hard work and dedication. One of Northeast Consulting Group, Inc’s favorite stories comes from runner, Roger Bannister. He did something that people said could not be done and he changed the way people viewed competitive running just from his achievements. In case you did not know Roger Bannister is most well known for being the first person to run a mile in less than four minutes.
Before he reached this achievement, everyone said that running a mile in less than four minutes was impossible and it couldn’t be done. The year after Bannister was able to run the three minute mile, 27 other people achieved this task. So, what changed? The mile did not get any shorter and time did not tick any slower. The difference was in the mentality of the people attempting to reach this milestone. After Bannister ran the mile in under four minutes, everyone knew that it was possible. They did not let their mind limit their belief as to what was possible. The mindset shifted from, “I don’t know if I can do this, it hasn’t been done,” to “If he can do it, I can do it.”
The moral of this story is to remember that our mindset about a task, our goals, and what we are capable of as individuals can limit our success. The mind is a powerful thing and if you truly believe you can do something, then you can.
“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says, ‘I’m possible’!” – Audrey Hepburn
