Mental Toughness

Are You Mentally Tough Enough?

Mental strength is demanded on a day to day basis for high profile positions. Athlete’s, CEO’s, and Entrepreneurs excel in their fields only by pursing their goals with thick skin and high levels of mental toughness. So, how do you know if you’re mentally tough enough?

1. You don’t feel sorry for yourself..
– understand that complaining doesn’t make any situation better
– instead of complaining about the negative aspects of your situation, focus on what you want to happen and what you’re going to do about it

2. You don’t give people power over you
– don’t be a “people pleaser”
– be relentless about your pursuit of passion and don’t care what other people think
– don’t waste your time focusing on the opinions of others, if you do, you’ll lose sight of what will make you succssful

3. Don’t avoid change
– things are always evolving, go with it
– if you continue to give your best, your best will continue to get better over time
– competition is going to get bigger, stronger, faster, and smarter — have the mindset to improve by learning from successes and failures

4. They don’t play small
– mentally tough people swing for the fences and know that they might strike out
– your purpose for achieving greatness needs to cast away the fear of failure
– refuse to tip-toe through life, intend to create a legacy for the future by making an impact on the here and now

5. Don’t focus on what you can’t control
– Refuse to focus on what you can’t control, there is nothing you can do about it
– understand that the less control a person feels the more susceptible they are to making poor decisions, falling into bad habits, and crumbling under pressure — don’t let that happen, the only way to do that is to not focus on it
